Wood Engravings
I get asked quite often, "How do you do it?"
Pets are family, so we are always taking photos of them, right? I make sketches inspired by those photos I receive from you! I focus on faces so be sure the face is prominent and clear in the photos you send. The more details I can see, the better the sketch I can create! The sketch is sent to you to approve. Once I receive your approval, I begin the engraving and sealing process.
When I'm not working on custom pieces, I create wildlife designs for ornaments, magnets and plaques that I sell at local farmers markets and boutiques.
The very nature of natural wood means that each item will be unique! The wood color, patterns, shapes and sizes will vary from slice to slice! See my Gallery for examples of the beautiful variations you can expect. No two slices are the same making each custom order truly one of a kind!

This is an artistic process which can not be rushed so please plan ahead for gift giving and holidays.

I'm partial to Live Edge Bark Basswood due to it's rustic nature and ability to really showcase the different textures in the engravings! Cherry wood is prized for its rich reddish-brown color and fine grain. It will darken significantly with age and UV exposure. Its beauty, durability, and ability to develop a rich patina over time make it a timeless choice. See the Gallery for a better idea of the natural wood differences.

Reclaimed Colorado Aspen ornaments are approximately 4.5-5 inches in diameter. Each will vary in shape, patterns and colors as is the nature of the wood. These differences are considered part of the natural beauty and uniqueness of each ornament.
Ornaments are finished with suede lace for hanging and an accent gemstone bead. The gemstone and suede colors will vary depending on current supplies.

Reclaimed Colorado Aspen coasters are approximately four (4) inches in diameter. Each will vary in shape, patterns and colors as is the nature of the wood. These differences are considered part of the natural beauty of each coaster.
A protective sealer is applied, however these are meant mainly for decorative purposes only. Be sure to wipe away condensation with a clean, dry cloth. Excessive exposure to liquids may damage the coaster.

Cherry wood plaques are approximately six (6) inches square with smooth sides and rounded corners. Each will vary in wood patterns and grain colors as is the nature of the wood. These differences are considered part of the natural beauty of each plaque.
Please allow 5-8 business days after we receive your approval of the sketch for me to complete the engraving and seal the plaque prior to shipping.

Throught the year, my supply of Live Edge Bark Basswood will vary in shapes and sizes. This listing is for a rectangular shape measuring approximately 16 x 12-13 x 0.5 inches. Comes with a metal hanging hook.
